The beauty of design is that you get to make something new, something that doesn't exist. I am passionate about design because it solves a problem, and has the ability to make things better. My goal as a designer is to create beautiful things that have purpose.
If you could marry a typeface which would it be?
Helvetica because even though its basic its dependable.
Biggest design pet peeve
When there are 50 different typefaces in one piece, people get so crazed with wanting to use ALL THE FONTS and don’t think about visual balance. Beautiful design can be done with 2-3 fonts, even just one family.
When you're not designing what are you doing?
You can usually find me with a camera in hand or sipping coffee exploring a new coffee shop. Photography is a passion that has really matured in college, I think in part because I've seen how storytelling is so deeply woven in to it. What inspires me is capturing authentic moments of peoples lives and being able to display the beauty of creation.
