Kristen Brower

Bachelor of Graphic Design, Class of 2018

About

I’ve had a passion for solving puzzles and paying close attention to details my whole life. Graphic design gives me the opportunity to practice both of these passions. Design is taking a problem, investigating it from new angles, and creating a beautiful solution. I hope to design solutions that truly make a difference in our world and in people’s lives.

question:

How many tabs do you have open right now?

Surprisingly, I only have eight tabs open right now. When I am in the middle of a project, I easily have upwards of fifteen tabs open at all times.

question:

Which was your favorite project or course in the College of Design?

My favorite course was Advanced Graphic Design Studio with Denise Gonzales Crisp. We spent the semester focusing on the heart of graphic design by crafting brand identity systems for two different entities. I learned so much about graphic design, systems, and my own design process in this studio. Most importantly, I found the area of design that I am truly passionate about.

question:

If you could describe your experience in the College of Design in the form of a typeface/typography pun, what would it be?

I’ve had a helvetica good time!
